Meet Our Physicians
The Javery Pain Institute was founded in August of 2009 by Keith Javery, D.O. and his wife, Lisa Javery, Certified Medical Office Manager.
Together, the duo worked to create a Pain Management practice that offers advanced pain therapies in a relaxed and compassionate environment. With the business management expertise of Lisa Javery and Dr. Keith Javery’s twenty years of experience in pain medicine, the Javery Pain Institute has grown to one of the premier pain management practices in Michigan.
Keith Javery, D.O.
Dr. Keith Javery received his Bachelors of Science in Biology at Truman State University. He then graduated from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree. He then went on to complete his residency training at the University of Kentucky where he specialized in both anesthesiology and pain medicine. Once finished with his specialty training, he was asked to stay on as the Medical Director of the University of Kentucky’s Pain Management Center where he practiced for over three years.
In 1995, Dr. Javery was recruited to West Michigan to join a multi-physician pain management specialty group. He devoted 15 years of his career to help foster the development of the modern pain clinic.
In 2009, Dr. Javery left his previous practice in order to form the Javery Pain Institute. His primary goal was to rekindle that close personal relationship with both patient and referring physicians that is so necessary to treat chronic pain. It was Dr. Javery’s vision to recapture that personal touch that is frequently missing in today’s medical world.
Dr. Javery understands the importance of listening to the patients and understanding their individual needs as well as the challenges they face when dealing with chronic pain. He then develops a specific treatment program based upon that particular patient’s individual needs.
Dr. Javery has been practicing for over 20 years and is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, the American Board of Anesthesiology Pain Management Certificate, and the American Board of Pain Medicine. He is also a Diplomate of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.
Dr. Javery brings with him the highest level of experience as well as certification and expertise in the treatment of chronic pain.
Mark Clark, M.D.
Dr. Clark joined the Javery Pain Institute in the summer of 2011. He joined our team because of his desire to offer patient-centered care for the chronic pain patient.
Dr. Clark received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine as well as completed his residency training in anesthesiology. He then went on to complete a pain medicine fellowship at the University of Toronto.
His areas of special interest include minimally invasive spine diagnostics as well as therapeutic techniques. Dr. Clark brings with him a long history in medical education and has served as Assistant Clinical Instructor at the Michigan State University Center for Medical Studies as well as for the Indiana University School of Medicine.
Dr. Clark is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the International Spine Injection Society, the North American Spine Society, the American Society of Addiction Medicine, and the American Academy of Pain Medicine.
Dr. Clark believes that the patient is at the center of everything and he and the staff at Javery Pain Institute work together to find the answers that allow the patient to lead a better life with less pain.
Dr. Clark and his family have resided in West Michigan for over 20 years.
Christopher R. Russo, M.D.
Christopher R. Russo, M.D. joined the Javery Pain Institute in the summer of 2012. He believes in a multidisciplinary approach to pain management with special emphasis on interventional pain techniques. His goal is to provide symptomatic pain relief, enhanced function, and improved quality of life for each and every one of his patients. He feels that pain should be treated as a matter of fact, and not a matter of fault.
Dr. Christopher R. Russo received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan in Cellular and Molecular Biology. He attended the University of Michigan Medical School where he received his Doctor of Medicine. Dr. Russo went on to complete his residency training with the University of Michigan Department of Anesthesiology.
Following his residency training, Dr. Russo completed a two-year Pain Medicine Fellowship with the University of South Florida Department of Neurology. This was followed by Post-Fellowship training in Advanced Interventional Pain Techniques at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida.
Dr. Russo is an expert in all aspects of pain medicine. He has special interest in the use of advanced technology for the treatment of complex neuropathic pain states.
Dr. Russo grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, trout fishing, and is an avid Michigan Wolverines football fan.
Aaron Greene, PA-C
Aaron received his Bachelors of Health Science at Grand Valley State University. Aaron then went on to study at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences where he finished with his Masters of Physician Assistance Studies.
Aaron comes to us as a provider for Internal Medicine at Spectrum Hospital, Butterworth Hospital and Blodgett Hospital. He has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of the medically complex patient.
Aaron also has provided expert medical care with Grand Rapids Addiction Medicine as well as Infusion Associates of Grand Rapids. Aaron Greene works closely with Dr.’s Javery, Clark and Russo to ensure that the continuum of the highest level of pain care is delivered to our patients. Aaron’s expertise and education allow him to work closely with each patient on an individual level providing comprehensive and compassionate pain care.
Aaron is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physicians Assistants (NCCPA) and a member of the American Academy of Physicians Assistants (AAPA).
