Shoulder Pain

Your shoulder is made up of three bones: your humerus, scapula and your clavicle. There are many types of shoulder pain and many causes. We’ve included a short list of some of the possible types of pain you may be experiencing.

  • Arthritis – The most common form of arthritis found in the shoulder is osteoarthritis, also known as wear and tear arthritis.

  • Instability – This can happen as a result of a sudden injury or from overuse.

  • Fracture – Shoulder fractures commonly involve the clavicle, humerus or scapula.

  • Tendon inflammation – Bursitis or Tendinitis. Bursitis: Sometimes excessive use of the shoulder leads to inflammation of the bursa between the rotator cuff and parts of the shoulder blade. Tendinitis: A result of wearing down of the tendon that occurs slowly over time.
